Our Learning this term
|Topic: Crime and mystery|
This term our topic is all about mystery! The children will be witness to a crime scene! They will then begin to examine the clues and put together a wanted poster and a newspaper report. We will continue our focus on spelling and our common exception words.
In maths this term we will be recapping and extending knowledge all prior learning in preparation for the upcoming End of KS1 assessments.
This term will mainly focus on using suffixes as well as the Year 2 common exception words and we will be focusing on applying these in our writing. New spellings are sent home every Friday with a spelling test the following Friday morning. The children will also be given opportunities to practise their spellings during the week.
|History & Geography||
This term in History we will be learning about the Victorians and how influential this era was for today’s society. The children will also be learning about what life was like for children during the 1800s.
Every Friday we have a spelling challenge linked to the spelling pattern that we have learnt that week. Please check your child's Home School Diary for any updates at the end of the week.
This year we have also introduced weekly arithmetic homework based on number bonds and simple additions. These are sent home every Friday alongside spellings and will be collected in by the following Thursday at the latest.
PE takes place on Friday morning. Ladybirds swim on Monday afternoons and Dragonflies have a coach Monday mornings for Games.
