Our Learning this term
|Topic: Crime and Mystery|
This term our topic is all about mystery! The children will be witness to a crime scene in which poor old Gingerbread Man’s head had been broken off! They will then begin to examine the clues and put together a wanted poster and a full police report. There will still be a big focus on spelling and grammar which will be fed into their literacy learning.
In maths this term we will be recapping and extending knowledge all prior learning in preparation for the upcoming End of KS1 assessments.
We will be continuing learning the Year 2 spelling rules and applying these in our writing. There will be an increased focus on suffixes and using a dictionary to check and correct our own spellings.
|History & Geography||
This term in History we will be learning about the Victorians and how influential this era was for today’s society. The children will also be learning about what life was like for children during the 1800s.
Every Friday we have a spelling challenge linked to the spelling pattern that we have learnt that week. Please check your child's Home School Diary for any updates at the end of the week.
