The Greville Primary School

Inspire, nurture, achieve

Happy Thursday!

If you would like to have a go at completing the 144 challenge today, you can find the test below. You have 10 minutes to try and complete all of the questions but remember it does not matter at all if you don't get it this time, you can try again next week!

Today, we would like you to continue your adventure story from last week. Start by introducing the magical character you created yesterday. Then write a conversation between your main character and your magical character using 'the golden rules for punctuating direct speech'.

If you didn't quite finish the beginning of your story or you found last weeks work challenging (which is fine!) do not worry. You can either use the story starter worksheet below to write your own conversation between Felix and the dragon, the characters from our example story which Miss Jordan reads in the video at the bottom of the page! Or you could write a short paragraph which includes speech using your own characters.

(The WAGOLL is written at a very high level and is there to inspire you and give you ideas smiley)

Miss Jordan reads the English WAGOLL

We hope you enjoy the end of our story and you are inspired to start your own writing today. This week is all about punctuating direct speech. Can you spot all the synonyms for said? Why not magpie them for your own writing!
