Dear Parents & Carers,
We made it through the first week of home learning! Thank you for bearing with us while we tweaked and adjusted to try and make it as straight forward and as manageable as we could. As the weeks go on (hopefully not too many of them..!) we're sure there will be a few changes to the way we do 'things' but these will all be communicated with you.
So what can you expect next week?!
Monday we will be uploading our weekly spelling quiz video for your child to watch a take part in. Like we said in the parent mail, if you are able, we'd love to know their score so we can keep a record that will help up tailor their learning when they return to us.
Next week in Literacy, we will be continuing with the story of Little Red Riding Hood and the children will be having a go at re-writing the story using their story maps to help.
In Maths, we will be delving into more learning about Tens & Ones. The children had a week introducing them to the concept just before Christmas and they all got on really well! Next week they will have a go at representing numbers and recapping their knowledge of one more/ one less, greater than, less than & equal to.
The second lesson for Geography is all about human and physical features. It might be an idea, on your daily walk/ getting some fresh air, to see if you can spot any human or physical features.
The next lesson in our Science topic is all about man-made and natural materials. You will be having a go at deciding which materials are man-made and which are natural! How many different materials can you spot around your house?
We hope you have a lovely weekend & don't forget, if you have any questions or queries about next weeks learning, please use the drop in sessions provided by your class teacher.
Very best wishes,
The Year 1 Team 😊 x
