Dear Parents/ carers,
We’ve made it through our first full week back in school! We have had a super week, filled with lots of learning, playing with friends and getting used to our new classroom and school routines.
In Maths this week, we have been recapping on how we could sort different objects and figuring out the best way in which we could count a group of objects. Next week, we will be continuing our learning on counting and begin to look at adding one more and taking one away from a given number.
In Literacy we have been revising some of our phonics from Reception to make sure that we are ready to hit the ground running when we start our new sounds next week! We have really enjoyed reading the story ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea!’ and we will be carrying on with this next week.
We are almost finished with assessing your child's reading and by the middle of next week everyone will have a new reading record book and a book to take home. Your child is in charge of changing their own books in Year 1, so please can we ask that you give them a gentle nudge in the mornings to remind them to change their book if needed!
Bits to remember for next week:
We hope you manage to have a lovely weekend and find some time for yourselves to relax!
See you on Monday 😊
