At The Greville, we teach children to write in cursive from Reception. One of the reasons behind this, in our experience, is that many children can find it difficult to begin using cursive when they are already in the habit of writing in print. 

We teach handwriting initially through our Read Write Inc phonics sessions so children are exposed to seeing and reading printed sounds alongside writing in cursive.
