Headteacher's Welcome

At The Greville, we are proud to provide a nurturing, positive and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported and happy. Our dedicated staff team works closely together to ensure that all children can flourish — both in their learning and in their understanding of the wider world.

The Greville is a two-form entry Infant school and a four-form entry Junior school, with 60 new children joining us each September in Year 3. It is our relentless aim to give every child the best possible start in their education — inspiring, nurturing and enabling them to achieve in many different ways.

Throughout their time at The Greville, our children experience high-quality teaching through an exciting, broad and relevant curriculum. We place a strong emphasis on reading, as we believe it unlocks learning across all subjects. Learning takes place both inside and outside the classroom, within our extensive school grounds that include a large all-weather pitch, an expansive field, a Forest School area, two fiction libraries, a cookery room and a dedicated music room.

Our wide range of curriculum and enrichment activities allows children to explore new opportunities and develop their interests and talents. Music, dance, sport and drama all play an integral part in school life. A significant number of our pupils take part in the choir, orchestra or are learning a musical instrument.

Our four school values — Respect, Resilience, Responsibility and Kindness — underpin everything we do and support our high expectations of behaviour and achievement for everyone.

We aim for every child to leave The Greville as a confident, well-rounded individual, ready for secondary school and proud of all they have achieved. Our pupils consistently achieve above the national average, and we continue to focus on the progress they make from the moment they join us.

We also place great importance on helping children understand the value of healthy lifestyles and mental well-being. They learn that equality, diversity, tolerance and respect are essential foundations — not just for their education, but for life and for their role in the wider community.

The safety and well-being of our children are always our top priorities, supported by robust safeguarding policies and procedures. We also value our strong partnerships with parents and carers, recognising the shared role we all play in helping children achieve and flourish.

We are proud of the warm welcome we give to new children and their families as they become part of The Greville family.

We hope you enjoy finding out more about our school here on our website. If you would like to visit and see the learning in action, please contact us.  We would be delighted to show you around.
