The main governing body is made up of a number of individuals with a wide range of skills to help help support and challenge school leaders.

There are two separate committees:

1) Teaching and Learning Committee

2) Business Committee

Each committee and the whole governing body meet at least once a term. 

The three core functions of the governing body are:

i) Setting the vision and strategic direction of school

ii) Holding the headteacher to account for its educational performance

iii) Ensuring financial resources are well spent.

Together, this helps to provide assurance that the school is performing well, able to improve, and is complying with relevant duties and requirements.
